Remember to Give Thanks on this Thanksgiving

Tonight is Thanksgiving-eve here in Canada, and as I am on a break between the baking and preperation of the stuffing for tomorrow's turkey dinner, I just wanted to take a moment to do this post.

Homes all around our nation will be preparing their feast for tomorrow - the traditional turkey dinner in most cases. Isn't that what we all look forward to on this holiday? The turkey, the stuffing, the multiple sides - mashed potatoes, yams, broccoli, carrots, etc. etc. etc.  I do as well.

But for a moment, lets go deeper.

For me, this day is a highlight time. Of course we should be giving thanks to God for all of our blessings - every day. But I think that on this day, when we gather with our loved ones - we need to send an extra whisper of gratitude. Thankful for our homes, for the wonderful array of delicious food we are about to eat. Thankful for those who are gathered with us. Thankful for family, friends, even our pets!

We must also remember to pray for those who are less fortunate on this day. Those who may be alone. Those who may not be fortunate enough to be sitting down to a feast on this day.  Or on any other day.

In this fast paced world, we must remember to slow down and acknowledge our blessings and feel the gratitude deep in our heart. We must remember to pray for those who are suffering at this time.  Even if they may be alone in body - let them not be alone in spirit.  Lift them up in prayer on this day of Thanks.

With all of that said...

I wish you and yours a Beautiful and Blessed Thanksgiving!
