For The Men Who Stayed
I never knew my dad,
Could not pick him from a crowd.
Birthdays, Christmas, School Plays,
He was never around.
Instead I had a mother,
Who played the role of two.
A plight I did not fully understand,
Until I raised my own child - without a man.
I wonder if they truly know,
The void left when they no-show.
Creating a child makes you a father,
Raising a child makes you a dad.
Walking away makes you a coward,
Staying makes you a man.
With this in mind,
I want to say...
Happy Fathers Day!!!
To the MEN who STAYED.
