Mayoral Promises

For those who don't know, Toronto is in the middle of a Mayoral Race. I will admit that there is a candidate who stands out for me. He is always going on about the thousands of phone calls and home visits he has done to speak to voters. So I called him up.

Wait for it....

He ACTUALLY called back!

So... I put on my reporters cap and asked him a few questions.

Q: What will you do about the lack of affordable housing and long wait lists for subsidy housing in Toronto?

A: I will implement expansions of subsidy market programs ... whereby 30,000 market units will become available under subsidized rent. Therefore shortening the current wait lists, which can range up to 20 years.

Q: What will you do with regards to the increasing numbers of people who need to use foodbank services in Toronto?

A: I will seek out corporate sponsors, because they are simply better able to contribute in mass quantity. As opposed to private citizen donations.

It would seem that this candidate is aware that everyone has a voice. Everyone has the right to living in dignity. And it is long overdue for someone to go into City Hall and clean up the fat.

Like everything else in life, time will tell....
